Eminescu & Veronica : Studiu asupra Mitului Orfic la Români

Is the myth of Orpheus a national myth of the Thracians, as it has been hold and revered as traditional truth ? I believe it to be a fundamental quest of our inner self, the quest for transcendence and the tragedy of looking after it where it is not. Romanian has many adstrata of linguistical accretions, but no one so far knows just how deep is the substratum. And yet, in famous Dan Botta's own attempts, poets live the reality of the fundaments and the tragedy of descensus ad inferos on a daily basis. It is for poets, therefore, to understand the mythical origins of our subtle, plastic, diminutive and incredibly old language.
