There are three territories – partially overlapping – centered on the highest peaks of the Southern Carpathians, and on the meanders of the Lower Danube – as this largest Eoropean river passes the mythical Iron Gates gorges, by cutting into the Carpathians. One is the Romanian Linguistical Area ( ALRO ). This is, and by far, larger than the double of the territory of modern Greater Romania. ( This is of course not the post-modern “ globalist ” Romania, out of which the weeping Bessarabia is still torn away, and left out in the cold, together with northern Bukowina ). ALRO, especially when toponyms – and particularly oronims – are studied is the largest such territory. The other one is the area of the Old European Civilization ( CEVE ) around 5,500 BC, by the time of the Euxine Flood. The last one is the territory of Dacia, in the times of Julius Caesar and Burebista. This last one is also a mythical territory, the Dacian Horizon ( ORDA ), described as it is by Anton Dumitriu and centered on mount Omul, on the higher plateau on top of which a triad of megalithic complexes, known as the Sphynx, the Babele, and the Columna Cerului, are still found. Here, in this essay, I attempt to explain the common center, the overlapping area and the maximum extension of these three territories, genetically, anthropologically, mythologically and ethnolinguistically.
